Pro Basketball:
3 Units on Cleveland Cavaliers -12½ -110

Some customers would like us to add some reasons as to why we make the choices we do, so we will. Cleveland is 7-3 (all records listed are ATS) in its last ten home games and 9-3 in its last 12 games after scoring 101-110 points. The team is also 5-0 in its last five against Atlanta. Meanwhile after scoring 90-100 points Atlanta is 3-8 in its last 11. On top of that there's the emotion factor in this one. Hawks are coming off a huge upset win over San Antonio, and we think they're spent for this game. This is a 3-unit pick because we do have concerns about it. My birthday (November 22nd) was the last time Cleveland won a game by 13 or more. And they're coming off two straight losses to Milwaukee and the Nets. And of course we all know about the Hawks big win, but before that they lost by double digits to Utah, by! nine to Denver and by double digits again to Phoenix.

4 Units on Miami Heat -4 -110
A new coach, a new all-star center, what more could the Heat ask for. We think this is a game that will be played with a lot of emotion, and Shaq looks like he's in pretty good playing condition based on his performance Sunday night. Miami is 75-53 as a favorite over the past three seasons, and 15-5 in road games after a division game in past three seasons. And this is a different Miami team than the one that's gone 4-6 ATS in last 10.

2 Units on Golden State Warriors +1 -110
We are basing this pick based on how Golden State plays against teams that score 100+ per game while also giving up that many. They're 20-8 versus poor defensive teams and 12-3 versus good offensive teams. That's what Seattle is, so we'll go with a small play on the Warriors.

1 Unit on Golden State Warriors O 211½ -110
Seattle is the best over team in the NBA, and Gold! en State's not far behind. Both teams have gone over in 9 of their las t 10 games. Golden State is averaging over 106 points a game in its last 5 outings. And let's look back at the past 6 games for Seattle...against Sacramento they scored 104 (while giving up 123), against Utah they scored 106, against the Knicks 101, against the Pacers 107, against Cleveland 115, against Charlotte 104. That's six straight over 100, and the game before that they scored 99. This is a high over/under that we don't usually mess with, but we will tonight for a small play.

College Basketball:
4 Units on Pennsylvania +11 -110
They lost to Duke, and now they're up against another high-ranked team, so you may be asking why in the world would you pick them? Well, let's look at some numbers. In that game against Duke on Wednesday Pennsylvania had 1 34-27 edge on the glass. Meanwhile Villanova is using a 4-guard lineup, and with that lineup they've been outrebounded in 2 of its last 3 games. And even though the! y beat Longwood Saturday (pretty easily) they did commit 19 turnovers and were outrebounded 44-35.

4 Units on Mississippi -4½ -110
St. Louis is playing well at home with a 3-0 mark so far this year, but the road tells a different story. On Saturday they did beat Oakland by seven on the road, but before that game they were 0-3 losing to North Carolina, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Hawaii. Meanwhile Mississippi hasn't lost at home, and we look for that to continue tonight.

4 Units on New Mexico -12 -110
New Mexico is 3-2 both SU and ATS last three seasons over New Mexico State. New Mexico State doesn't play well for some reason in December. Over the past three seasons they're 3-11 ATS in the month. They're also 12-23 as an underdog in past three seasons, and 5-15 ATS versus a winning team in past two seasons. As a side note, the over has hit in 2 of 3 games in this series in past three seasons for those of you interested in looking into placing something on that.
